Common Reasons for Breast Enhancement Surgery

Breast enhancement is a very personal decision and not everyone will understand it, but so long as you understand your reasons for the decision and all of its implications, then you can feel reassured that you are making the right decision for you. Here are some common reasons women choose to undergo breast enhancement surgery.

Number One: Make ‘Em Bigger

The number one reason women choose to undergo breast enhancement surgery is to make their breasts larger. Sometimes they want just a subtle difference, maybe enough to hold up a strapless gown or bikini; sometimes they want breasts with their own zip code. Either way, they want bigger breasts, usually opting to go up two cup sizes.

Number Two: Make ‘Em Fuller

Often, women considering breast enhancement surgery are mothers who have lost breast tissue due to pregnancy or breastfeeding children. They are women who have given their time, energy, money and bodies to their children and just want to take their bodies back. They seek breast enhancement surgery to restore the full, firm look of youthful breasts.

Number Three: Make ‘Em Higher

Though breast enhancement surgery is not as effective as mastopexy (the proper medical name for a breast lift) in lifting breasts, it does give breasts a little perkiness and a little extra size and fullness to boot. Women with smaller, sagging breasts often choose to lift their breasts with breast enhancement surgery for the very fact that they can get a little boost in size too.

Number Four: Make ‘Em Over

Breast enhancement surgery often serves as breast reconstruction surgery for women who have lost one or both breasts to cancer. The female breast, regardless of size or shape, is the preeminent mark of womanhood. Breasts make up an important part of a woman’s self image and restoring them after a mastectomy allows women to continue feeling healthy and feminine.

Whatever your reason for having breast enhancement surgery, make sure it’s the right one for you. More than knowing why you want to undergo the surgery, you should know the reasons not to have one. Larger breasts will not make your boyfriend love you more; higher breasts will not make you younger. Breast implants will not make you or life perfect. Desire improvement, not perfection, in your physical appearance because you and only you want yourself to look better, and you can be pretty sure you aren’t undergoing a major surgery for all the wrong reasons.
