enlargement - reduction - reconstruction
Identifying the best skin care products to both enhance your appearance and keep you looking young can be a time-consuming chore and somewhat pricey. There is, however, an effective product that helps to accomplish all of this at a reasonable cost.
Bare Essentials makeup is an amazing business success story - from a line that was sold exclusively on television to a major makeup company that can now be found in stores like Sephora and Nordstrom across the country. But, does it live up to all the hype? Does it really work?
For a brief overview of Bare Essentials basic kits and starter products, keep reading.
Price
The Bare Minerals Getting Started Kit typically retails for between $70 and $100, depending on where you purchase it and any deals or specials. Usually, the best bargains can be found not in retail stores, but on television or through the Bare Minerals website.
The price is a little high, but consumers get five products and some great brushes, which are actually fairly good quality and make this kit a great value. For those on a budget or who simply want to test drive the product, the company offers a smaller sample kit at $60.00.
Ease of Use
It’s important to know exactly how to apply your Bare Essentials makeup. Unlike regular cream or chemical-based makeup, it’s a much different approach and won’t look good if not applied properly. After buying the product, I tried applying it before I watched the enclosed tutorial DVD. The results weren’t good.
After watching the DVD, I opted to drop by a local department store with a Bare Essentials counter. The salesperson gave me a full tutorial on how to apply the makeup and store it. The results? Seamless.
In short, it’s not easy to use if you just rip open the box and dive right in. But if you take an hour to learn how to apply the product and try it out a few times, you’ll get it. In the end, applying every step of the Bare Minerals package takes between 5 and 10 minutes.
Actual Product
When applied properly, Bare Essentials looks great. It’s not cakey, nor does it look overdone. The finish is smooth and seamless, and the overall coverage is great. Also, because it’s a mineral, it won’t clog or suffocate your pores, meaning your skin won’t suffer.
However, despite the fantastic foundation and blusher range of products, Bare Minerals just doesn’t bring it when it comes to their eye and lip makeup. The eye powders are hard to control, difficult to use and most wearers will likely opt for an eye makeup solution that’s a little more traditional.
That said, if you want a foundation that’s light, but provides full coverage, then Bare Essentials makeup is probably a great buy.
